Dinner time with David, Lucy and Claire…

A pleasant surprise just recently, David arranged to meet up with Claire and Lucy for dinner. It was a great night with a number of random photos. We went to dinner at a lovely Chinese restaurant and afterwards hit a bar. Then after the girls had left us we carried on…nothing more shall be said. Photo evidence here….

Beachy Head. Should I jump?

What a manic yet relaxing few days. Starting off with a quick trip to Beachy Head with Emma. I met Emma in Eastbourne where we thought we could go for some lunch. Decided not to eat in town and instead go up to Beachy Head and look for a place up there.

It's me....on Beachy Head

We eventually found a place where we could eat but it looked really full. Deciding to stick with it we entered in to what was a lovely place. However Emma quickly noticed how everyone was in suits….dark suits for that matter. Yup! Perfectly we entered the happy world of a policeman’s funeral. As soon as Emma had told me what the situation was a police helicopter started hovering around the building with people on the ground waiving.

A quick giggle about the situation and we started to chat about work. As you may or may not know Emma works in a local hospital as a nurse, so I went in with my normal line “Did anyone die at work today then”. Brilliant! Aren’t I just the best? I couldn’t stop laughing and luckily no one heard except Emma. Well at least they pretended not to hear. More Beachy Head photo’s here

This is a picture of the guys at work when we did our team building exercise. I’m just doing this post for two reasons. One is to test the “blog this” service from flickr and the other? Well I just like this photo!

There goes another weekend…

So got super silly on the Friday night which ended up being too friendly with friends (boys you know who you are). That is the end of that. Stupidty! Went to the Pressure Point and hooked up with some friends, Preston & Jaz, Mark, Kat, Ro and maybe some others but I can’t be sure.

Saturday was recovering time which ended up watching football and waiting for the lovely Emma. A Chinese meal and some beers and we were both out for the count.

Sunday we spent tidying up and than back to Hastings to have roast dinner with Sally. All in all a good weekend. This weekend is gonna be a little crazy me thinks but a bit more control will be in order.

Until then here are some quick links to photos I took of Jaz, Kat and Google over the weekend.

Xmas Work…

The work party was great. It started off with dinner at a local restaurant where some delicious food was served with a live band playing in the background. The drinks that were served before dinner were cocktails aptly named Google, MSN and Yahoo. I didn’t realise until it was too late that we were only allowed one apparently so apologies to anyone who missed out.

After dinner were the awards followed by what was a sad moment of the official farewell to Claire. I’m going to miss Claire at work but hopefully when she gets back from her travels I can actually see her outside of work.

Anyhow after the awards and a few words summarising how much the company would miss Claire we all wondered off to a club opposite to enjoy the rest of the night.

One of the ‘things’ that I have noticed since moving to Brighton, well actually working in Brighton, is the number of people that are actually home DJ’s. This is a great thing for me as I don’t have any friends who DJ or at least like to DJ. Anyhow the point being with having so many DJ’s in the office we were able to get a line up. My personal performance was poor though I did have one good mix which I was happy with. On the night however I would have to say iLL wILL ws top dog. It had nothing to do with his mixing but everything to do with his choice of tunes. They were great!

After a few cocktails and beers etc. the after party was at Jon and Dan’s. Now I have to say I did instigate this little party BUT only with the permission with Jon. So I would like to take this moment and say thanks to Jonno and Dan for letting the little event happen. It was quite funny to see some faces at the flat. Any more detail would just be to incriminating other than I remember thanking my lucky stars at about one in the following afternoon making my way back home that I booked the day off.

All in all it was a great night and to summarise how messy it was I’ll leave you with a few keywords that will personally describe the night for me… Hispanic Community and Champ.

New posts coming soon but until then…

Too busy to blog but here are two videos to show you what I have been up to lately. One is of Jon playing with his Wii. On the video he playing boxing but mostly when I go round there I’ve been playing the bowling game.

The next video is of Fatboy Slim at Big Beach Boutique 3. This was on New Years Day 2007. The video shows the remix of Fedde Le Grand’s Put you hands up for Detroit.

Loads to write about still including Work Party, Christams, being ill and going to Hospital, New years Eve party, Fatboy Slims Big Beach Boutique 3 and of course my review of 2006!

Yummy Venison and Emma here are my boyz

So it’s been a while and I’m sorry. Work has been busy of late and meeting friends and Emma has taken somewhat of a priority. Though I have a got a few minutes to write down some of my latest adventures, hmmm where to start?

The weekend before last was an interesting occasion. As I wrote last time I went out with the boys to Pressure Point. After that evening Emma came over in the afternoon the next day. After the introducing Emma to the wife aka David I quickly got changed and ready to meet up with Mark. Little did Emma know that she would meet most of my friends that day!

Walking up to Marks (aka Dad’s & Mum’s Place) Emma started to realise there could be a lot of walking involved. Though the promise of food and drink spurred her on I think. We met up with Mark and wondered in to town to have a look around. It was good to chill out and enjoy Brighton rather than using and abusing its offerings. So often I’ve got a to-do list and only interested in completing the things I need to do.

After wondering around we decided to hit the Eagle for what was a scrumptious lunch. I can’t remember exactly what the others had but I do know I had the sweetest Venison ever. The food is amazing at the Eagle! Just recently I had venison again in another food format though. Though I can’t remember exactly what is was I do know it was awesome yet again!

Mark headed home after some further wonderings around the shops and we met up with the boy Jonno. We got a couple of drinks in and both headed off home as we were all meeting again later.

A quick shin dig and some vodka lemonades Emma and I were back up to Marks place to meet Jon. We got a couple of drinks at his decided to hit the pub. We went to this pub called The Couch I think. It wasn’t long before Tom joined us at the pub as well which was cool. Tom has the ability to talk or create great conversation. A skill I would like to have. A few beers, maybe one too many actually, and we were off to Jon’s place to throw some shapes in his lounge. Rudely interrupting Dan’s evening (sorry) we spent the rest of the night playing tunes and having a few laughs.

It really was a great day, Emma got to see my good mates from Brighton and I got to enjoy another night out with the lads (and the lady of course).

Boyz In Da’ Pressure Point

Well it’s weekend review time and we kick off with Friday night….hmmm….what happened? Ah yes went back home picked up my decks and went round Jon’s. On the way there I picked up Mark R. A few drinks and a bit of mixing by Jon and Raymondo and we were off to the Pressure Point. I’ve only been to the Pressure Point once before and it was good laugh with Dan. Once we got inside after a bit of cuing it was straight on to the drinks and saying hello to a few friends I hadn’t seen for a while. It was so good to see them and basically stayed with the group for the majority of the night while shin diggin’ it up.

I stayed quite late and walked home by myself as Jon and Mark made their way home a little earlier than I did. I was quite proud of myself for going straight home and resisting staying out later though there was a good reason for this. The next day I had planned to meet up with the guys and Emma to go out again so I didn’t want to be a complete zombie.

It was good to go out with boys and have a decent time without going mad! And boy did I thank my lucky stars the next day.

Hastings, Emma…AGAIN!!! C’mon… :)

O.k so after James Bond what did I do? Well I hit Hastings again – Yep you’ve guessed it to see Emma. I know, I know I keep writing about Emma but to be fair I have been seeing her, travelling or working. Anyway I’ll keep this posting short (as I can).

So I hit Hastings straight after work. Thanks to mother I got some bits and pieces together so that I could cook Emma some food as she had been on a twelve-hour shift (I’m laughing at the moment while writing this as I spelt shift without the “f” when I first typed it). Alrighty then, I got picked up went to Emma’s to make some food and decided to go out in to town. Hastings is such a small town but nevertheless it can be o.k. and even good sometimes. It really depends what type of people are out and which friends your are with at the time. The way to I think about it is this; I can have a poor time whether I’m in London, Ibiza, Brighton or Hastings etc. But I only have a great time if I’m with the right people. Anyway the night was good with a trip to a bar and then a club. Once again I was throwing shapes faster than the DJ could pull the sleeve off the records and it wasn’t long before we headed home. Naturally the obligatory meeting Emma’s ex, speaking to a drunk and having an arm-wrestle with a navy seal was had but I’ll keep those stories off the blog. Some people say I expose myself on here and that I am too open. Well I do filter things, I try not to be too specific, but it is about me and I am an open guy. Saying that I’m aware of the term think before you speak…do I use it all the time? Do I hell!

Right so we’ve got Friday summed up let’s talk about Saturday evening. Emma had a little party and basically I got to see her friends, which was great. It’s been a long time since I knew Emma and friends tell you a lot about a person, so with that in mind I would like to say I’m sorry to all of you who regard me as your friend (that went out to about two people – my mum and brother – and they don’t even read my bloody blog!). Where was I? Ah yes the evening of friends and family! Yes family. Emma’s mum came to the party to. She’s a lovely lady and very interesting to talk to. I was always a little scared of Sally when I was first going out with Emma. Now though it’s great. Look forward to seeing her again. My mother also turned up as well! It was great to see her so confidant once again talking to strangers. It took a lot for my mum to drive during the dark and talk to people she never has met before. I am so proud of her doing that. Well done!

Then there was Lisa, Emma’s sister. She’s a funny girl and I mean that in the comedy sense. I do like her and look at her sometimes as a little sister. She is so strong minded and yet so fragile inside. She makes me want to pick her up and tell her everything will be all right even though there is nothing wrong with her. During the evning we kepty winding each other up and it was great fun. Scarily but ever so nice, that evening was the first time our families had properly met socially. From all accounts it went well – and me? Well I hope I made a good impression to not only Emma and her family but also her friends….But c’mon how could I ever fail? (sorry had to add that it would be to soft otherwise!)
