Jon’s house party in London

So carrying on from Friday’s Extreme Monopoly I made my way back to London on Saturday evening. Why? Well Uni Jon had a house warming party running and my other uni mate Gaz was gonna be there to. Like I mentioned in a previous post I had to make the effort. I had to be there as I haven’t seen these guys for ages. So I bloody well did it!

I had a good night and as ever my plain lazy hat was a great ice breaker, especially the ladies. Cat, Emma, Sandy and I’m sure there was someone else I was chatting to or having a go….with the hat. I on the other hand was very good and …THAT’s it Alison, but she didn’t wear the hat actually. Alison was quite a colourful character but didn’t dance much sadly. Anyway where was I, ah yes, Cat and Emma. These ladies were very nice people and were great fun to muck around with. Though I must confess I did lie and say that Gareth was my brother. Not a bad lie I guess but I did forget to tell them it wasn’t true.

Anyway in summary it was a pretty cool night though I did ring up my family in Brighton when I got a little homesick. Bless them that’s twice now I’ve been away and they’ve talked me through my home sickness. Why is Brighton so god damn addictive? It could be that I’m having the time of my life with friends! Which reminds me of two things. The first being Raymondo will hopefully being having a very very very small gathering round his this weekend. I so hope so. I love going round Mum and Dad’s place. They look after you, make you feel good and the music dad plays is awesome. Saying that this gathering will be in aid of a battle between Vinyl and CD, Jon and Mark aka Dad.

Jon has been itching for ages to play and I know he’s been playing and buying a lot of vinly lately so I really can’t wait to see these two go head to head. I will hopefully be taking my iMac round as well to record the sessions, which will be cool. That will add a little bit of pressure I think. The second thing is that I have bought some new decks…CD decks to be precise so I won’t be going out for at least two years or more.

Anyway here’s to next Friday, hopefully it will go through, as it’s early stages yet so no getting comfy with the idea. Until then I’ll be praying for a swift delivery of my decks.

Extreme Monopoly & The London Eye

As mentioned before as busy weekend was planned, how much of it I would actually do I did not know, but something I knew that would be good was a team building activity planned for Friday.

The game starts...(This is my team)Friday started off meeting the boys from work at about nine thirty. From there we started playing Monopoly on the train. I won’t go in to the details of the whole game etc. but while we were on the train we had to answer some difficult questions.

My team consisted of Doug, Chris and Jon. As Jon had done all the prep work for the questions he was unable to help us. However as the rules stated we were able to ask other people on the train. Doug and I did a great job finding some very intelligent and friendly people who were able to answer an extraordinary amount of questions. Though I must admit I think we peaked too early.

Buckingham PalaceThe rest of the day involved completing tasks such as answering topical questions and getting people to photo us next to land marks etc. It really was exhausting but exceptionally good fun. I’ve always wanted to go round London like this but doing it with friends was just fantastic.

After a few rounds of Monopoly we stopped and had a pint before the big surprise of being revealed. Little did we know that a private pod on the London Eye had been booked for all of us? I was really pleased as I’ve always wanted to go on the London eye, but to do it in style like we did was amazing.

Dinner TimeBefore heading off to the London eye we grabbed some food at a pub right on the Thames. I had a nice steak and chips, and the pint went down as well. The setting was great superb.

I headed off with Jonny a little earlier than the others as we needed to book in. Once everyone was in a group and we were all ready we were escorted to the London eye. It was great being able to bypass the cue and have our own pod waiting for us. We also had a little bar man with us that served us champagne. The whole ride was just amazing, the views and the few gags we had were brilliant.

It's me againAs the old saying goes what goes up must come down and surely enough we did, but what a buzz it was. After the ye some of the guys stayed on in London including me where we visited a few pubs before heading back home to Brighton. However before we got on the train Nilhan showed us a great little bar in Victoria. It’s the Thistle hotel and it was just perfect for a calming down session before hitting the train.

Finally we got back to Brighton and hit one more pub before ending what was an excellent day! Oh yeah…I nearly forgot. We saw JK as well! Celebrity Spotting Kudos foes to Chris.

I’ve just contacted the hospital

Yep, that’s right. I have just contacted the Conquest Hospital. Why? I hear you cry. Simple. I’m just trying to contact an old friend of mine that I have lost touch with. My friend Andrew told me he saw Emma recently working there and that jogged a few memories. Emma was my first “proper” girlfriend. She was so kind to me and since breaking up has been nothing but a great friend to chat to. Sadly though we slowly lost contact which is a real shame. I think the last time we had a good ol’ chat might of been a year or less ago at The Crypt in Hastings.

Anyway why the push to see her? Well, I’m on this road of being better person thing. One of the things that has been said about me is I could make friends in an empty room. Though I lose touch with friends just at the same rate. So when I heard there was a possibility to see Emma I thought I’d grab it with both hands. And when I think about it, Emma is someone that I would like to know.

Honestly I never used to write feelings and thoughts before I started reading my friends blogs on mySpace and put this bloody category in my blog to tick. Grrrrr. Though I am kind of liking it. It’s like a little bit of therapy.

Closing chapters and realisation of family.

Today has been a really good day and I hope I’m not speaking to soon as the final piece of a very dark time for me may be shipped away on Monday. Though I cannot explain what or who it is, what I can say is that it will be something that I can take a positive from. It’s quite ironic that this thing has happened at a time when waters are not so calm.

It is at these times I reflect on my little life and think what can anyone do to me that I can’t eventually get back on my feet again with the help of my family? I’m not talking about dying, disease etc. I’m talking about the small-minded people that try and have a pop at me sometimes. I’m talking about the people that talk behind my back. I’m talking about the people who lie to my face, on the phone, in an email. I’m talking about the people who do their best to project me as one thing when they don’t know me at all.

If you don’t kill me, I will not break. I have hit bottom once and risen, the point is….I know it can happen again and I know I will come back stronger. So when you see me smile in difficult times, it’s not because it’s easy, ignorant, or simply don’t care. It’s because I have my family’s love and respect though that doesn’t replace personal pride.

That was quick, but more fun time ahead!

My last post has been slightly muted in the fact that we have agreed, that is Lois and I, not to push things further. I think we both kind of knew that was going to be the case. The best thing is though I think we’re going to still remain friends. Hopefully better than just normal friends because I do think she is great and the group of people that she belongs to are superb people. I have had some of the best times with these people and look forward to more time in the future.

O.k so on to other stuff….

There is the possibility of another long busy weekend. At the moment here is the situation. On Friday go to London with work for a real life Monopoly game bonanza. Now, I’m thinking I may try and stay with a friend as I’ve been offered to go to a house warming party on the Saturday, which is in London somewhere. Now before I continue there is also a gathering round Mark H’s house as well which I really want to go to as well. They have such bloody good fun there, and again I can just watch it all happen withouit pushing it along myself (o.k that’s another post altogther). Anyway….I wasn’t too sure about going but I’m thinking I HAVE to make the effort. I HAVE to meet these people as I haven’t seen them for ages and I put it down to my previous relationship. So anyway, I was kind of hoping then I could hitch a lift with Sam back down to Hastings the next day to see my friend down their. So that’s the mini tour, can it work? I’ll let you know. I got a funny feeling I’ll probably just go to London Friday and come back. I hope not though…

Lazy days with Lois

So after recovering a little bit from the party I made the ever so long journey to Lois’s house. Since moving to Brighton I’ve really enjoyed walking around instead of driving. I think it’s because I’m still finding it interesting. Also it’s a bit of exercise that I enjoy when my iPod is working. However on the way to Lois’s it stopped! Yup, battery low. How crap was that? I was getting in to some Coldplay then as well.

Finally I got to Lois’s house and was able to chill out with her. I’m still learning to be with someone again, and I hope that doesn’t make things awakard between us as I am totally comfortable with her. Well it’s not just comfortable, she’s pure entertainment. I’m a talker, funny, laid back kind of guy that is willing to give thier opnion about most things. Even if I don’t know what I’m on about. Though I do tend to find that I stop to engaging in coversation and just want to listen to her…or it could be the fact she can’t stop talking because she thinks she’s right (only kidding!).

Anyway this morning I think there was a bit of a break through, for one we had a pillow fight and I always find trying to kill someone brings you closer to them. Secondly I think we just got a little closer. Everything is still up in the air, and I must admit that’s a different position to what I’m used to in relationships. Not that’s a bad thing, and considering we’ve only just started to know each other I’m totally fine with that. So what’s next? Now this is the best part….I don’t know. All I do know is I’m enjoying the hugs, kisses, and the laughs. What else do you need? O.k it would help if she bought me a house, car, clothes….But the essentials are there.

Raymondo’s Gathering

Yesterday I had the pleasure of actually taking a day off which allowed me to clean up my room a little, though I do need to change my sheets still, and generally relax. The plan for the evening was to go out for a few drinks and keep it as that. Hopefully meet Lois at some stage of the evening. Then it all changed….

Raymondo was ordering a little gathering which basically meant music, beer and a few laughs. House parties of any kind, small or big, are great. You get to meet people and have a great chat. Now if I could remember peoples names that would be super. But checking on my phone this morning I’ve added two people Buffy and Viper. I do remember these guys and hope to meet them again at another party of sorts.

Anyway it was a cool night of dancing and chats and I like to say thanks to Mark (Dad) and Sarah (Mum) for hosting another fantatsic evening.

(Mark - Good luck for football on Sunday)

Two clubs and a Beer Festival…and I still got home early!

I had a day off on Friday so I did some shopping and caught up with some guys from work for lunch. I was pretty tired already that day as I did a fly by night visit to my friends in Hastings. Before I continue I would like to apologise for not seeing mother on the morning of Friday. I will get some time in soon I promise. I’m such a rubbish person when it comes to visiting my family. I do love you guys! I feel a new paragraph is required as a mark of respect.

O.k so recently I’ve been clubbing like I’ve been told I have a terminal disease. I’ll go out say 8 or 9pm on a Friday or Saturday and not come back until the afternoon of the following day. Crazy things but I’m meeting new friends, thanks to Mark Higginson for that. Well back to last night….

O.k it started off with Dan, Jon, Cals, Cals friend and me going to the Hanover Beer festival. Sadly we couldn’t get in at first but after some convincing Jon had managed to convince the Old lady to give us two tickets. The plan was then to hang around to see if anyone else would hand in tickets. Dan and I offered to go in and wait around while the others went back to the pub up the road until we could get another three tickets. It wasn’t long before the old lady presented us with another three tickets and the others joined us. From there it’s a haze of crepes filled with Chilli and cheese, ham and cheese, chocolate, and chocolate and bannana. Of course a small amount of ale was consumed. So much so I’m not sure how it all happened but Jon and I found ourselves in the Zap club. I know it’s a little random but hey, what ya gonna do? Zane Low was playing which I thought was pretty good but Jon had other ideas. Towards the end of the night Jon ran up to the booth and did the old handshake ‘pull away move’. It was classic to see Zane Lows face and the funny thing is Jon started to walk away and Zane put his hand out as if to say that was funny but c’mon lets shake hands properly. But Jon just carried on walking back….classic.

After that we hit the Funky Buddha lounge where some hardcore dancing was made. I made an excellent contribution to the shape-throwing crowd, as there was a dance off! I do love a dance off! Met some nice people in there called Jazz and Tim to!

Overall a great start to the weekend! And I was home before 7am!

Bye bye Hastings and Blogger. Hello Brighton and Wordpress…

We are your friendsIt’s been a long time since I last posted. Sorry for that, but I’m sure you’ve all been crazy, manic, and all over the place to since my last post. The main things that have happened since my last post is the fact that I have moved to Brighton and I’m no longer in a full time relationship. How do I feel about both? Well of course I miss them both for different reasons. Let’s start with Hastings to Brighton…

Since getting a job based in Brighton I’ve always wanted to move over. The nightlife and people are fantastic. It was always a sad moment for me to have to get the train back to Hastings when the night seemed young and full of promise. Fridays were the hardest times to go home. So now? Well the weekends seem shorter and don’t seem to stop. In fact it would come to no surprise to me in the near future if I go to work on a Friday morning with a backpack full of fresh clothes and find myself back there Monday morning having not stopped partying. Then again, I think I’m a little more responsible than that, or am I? Or have I done that already? Sometimes when I get in to work it’s a relief to get back to normal life. In summary life since moving has be pretty good and the search for more good times continues. Though there are some things I do miss, my brother, mother, my niece and nephew. I miss them so much and it’s hard to see them in photos, especially my nephew as he starts to grow in character. I do miss you guys and I’m sorry I don’t keep in touch as much as I should do.

Cheesy KellyOn to the other big change in my life my last relationship. Kelly as some of you would know is my last full blow long-term relationship thingy. Most people would know I’ve been in a series of serious relationships since the age of sixteen or seventeen, all of them providing fantastic memories! I really haven’t had a break in between any of my relationships until now. Now I’m free, single and happy about it. Of course a little company would be great, but I’m not looking for anything serious with anyone new. Saying that, there are a few people I wouldn’t mind starting something with but that would be telling. So at the moment nothing is really happening except for a few laughs and some innocent flirty stuff. At this time I think it would be a good opportunity to say that I’m available for dating and enjoy free food and beer (only female apply).

Right that’s pretty much the transitional update done, look forward to getting back to normal blogging mode soon.

Brighton to Brighton via London and Hastings (Part 1)

It has been a really crazy bank holiday weekend. It started off so slow then….BANG! I didn’t stop. Let’s start as ever from the begining…

Alrighty then, I booked off the Friday and Tuesday to extend my bank holiday weekend just that little bit further. Friday was a relaxing, or a recouperating day should I say? Dave and I went off the night before on a bit of a fun time drinking session which ended up hitting the Honey Bar and Club. Like the light weights we can be on drink we ended up a little drunk too fast and went home about 12-1′ish. The previous night’s activities included dancing, chasers, and much stupidty. Having the Friday free was a lifeline that I knew I could rely on, unlike Coasty who I’m told managed fine at work. So Friday detailed me watching the 4400, which some folks will know I’m currently addicted to. I love this program so much it’s untrue. I’ll go in to this another time, but if you like the 4400 you’ll know what I mean. For one thing…Doh! Another time. Where was I?…Ah yes so Friday was my 4400 and tidying up day. Oh and I got a yummy Indian in the late evening and yes I’m talking about food.

Saturday, the day the Mini Hassan Tour started. Cricket was on and it was Fanatastic! Sussex played Lancashire in the C&G Trophy final. It was such a good game, it really was. You can read more about the Final on the BBC website. That lasted pretty much all day until about 6.30 I think. During the day though Mark aka Raymondo, had been kind enough to invite us and a c ouple of the other lads to house party. Game as ever, and considering how good the last house party I went to with Mark, there was no way I wanted to miss this! Just to be clear this was Mark and Sarah’s friend’s house party. Practically we’re family :)

Just before going David was giving me the ‘I can’t be bothered’ speech etc. until I mentioned the fact that there could be a small chance of a girl or two there and we could make some new friends. Before you know it, he’s ready and walking up to the off license. Excited as ever, we got round to Mark and Sarah’s pad where we said we would meet Dan and Will before heading off to the party. I thought it would be best to go to the party with someone the host would know ’cause house party hosts can quite rightly tell you to bugger off if you’re trying to blag it in, and quite rightly so!

Finally, after Will picking up some booze and a little bit of walking we got to the party and wow what a flat. Right in the center of the Lanes and such a good looking place inside. The best or most interesting part of the flat had to be the main room, which had a Pole dancers pole placed pretty much in the centre.

The night was pretty interesting and went on for what seemed a few hours but in realtiy finished at nine in the morning or something like that. During the night I met up with some fantastic people from London. Marvin, Emma, Mike, Matt and Emile. Everyone who was left at the party went to the beach. We sat down and enjoyed the view and chilled for a while. It was excellent to appreciate living by the sea once more. More to follow…
