Went to the cinema for the first time last Thursday in ages to see James bond in Casino Royale….
Yes I was sceptical, somewhat confused by the employment of the new 007 actor Daniel Craig but boy was I wrong. The new film is excellent and what I like about the Bond series of late is the way it reinvents itself – still interesting, still carry’s the same theme and yes still grabs and maintains the attention and imagination of bond fans, well at least me. Why do I like this so much though? I think I admire the boldness of a new bond, the twist and the way they portray Bond to be more vulnerable yet never the less invincible.
The biggest difference between Bond of old and Bond of new? Cheesy has been replaced by confidence with style. That’s not a critique but my personal observation.
After going to the cinema Dan, Will, Jon, Sophie and Sophie’s friend went to the pub where we kept drinking to a late hour. How naughty? Especially of a school night but it was worth it.
