Google (the search engine) have published their “Google 2005 year-end Zeitgeist“.
What is this?
Well it’s an “aggregation of billions of search queries people type into Google”. Google go on to say:
“Considering all that has occurred in 2005, we thought it would be interesting to study just a few of the significant events, and names that make this a memorable year.”
The Google 2005 year-end Zeitgeist focuses on five main subject areas (click on the subject or graph to see more information) :
- World Affairs
The major graph for me in this section is the London Bombing attacks
- Nature
We’ve had a few Major Natural Disasters this year
- Movies
The Star Wars movie was released this year and I got to be honest this is my favorite graph. It clearly shows The Force being stronger…
- Celebrities
Being a celeb is all about popularity and Britney will be pleased…
- Phenomena
The Wikipedia has been fantastic and Google shows how popular it has been…
There is loads more information available at the Google 2005 year-end Zeitgeist… Fun stuff
